1 x Alesis HD24 24-track digital hard disk recorder
This rig was used as one of my in-house systems. Since I’ve had it, it’s never gone outside of the building. It’s super powerful and sounds brilliant.
The 01V96 has a MY8-AT16 dual ADAT port card installed which means that in conjunction with the on-board ADAT port, this desk can receive and send twenty-four digital channels. Hooking upthe desk to the Alesis HD24 is a breeze. All you need are six TOSLINK cables. Configuring the desk via the Yamaha editor software makes set-up quick an’ easy.
The desk is digital which means that there’s no need for outboard equalisers and effects, for example. For drums, you can just dial up compressors on the drum channels. Easy!
The Electro-Voice rig is big, quiet and seriously powerful. The ELX118P subs have built-in cross-overs so you only need one signal feed to each stack.
There’s a pristine QCS RMX 1450 power amp which is ample to drive the two NJD 15” wedge monitors. I specifically chose these monitors because I wanted the foldback to sound good, for a change.
The Behringer FBQ1000 dual-channel feedback destroyer was a backup. I used to have it plugged into the inserts of the main vocal channels but I can’t remember actually using it.
This is a lovely system which has so much potential for static or mobile applications. I also have an AppSys ADX-32B ADAT-over-Ethernet system for sale at the moment. Like me, you could have a rack of 8-channel pre-amp A/D converters on stage and send / receive 24 / 8 channels to / from the 01V96 via CAT5e! I used four Focusrite Octopres for that; three sending twenty-four channels in one direction to the desk and one receiving eight channels from the desk for monitoring. The AppSys ADX32B has built-in ADAT splitters so you can still route to the HD24 and record. It worked flawlessly.
Condition-wise, for a start, everything works. No blown speakers, burnt out amps, etc. The QSC are in excellent condition. The speakers are like new. The desk is perfect. The HD24 is lovely.
I have a lot of speaker cable and other bits if you need 'rm, I’d be happy to negotiate when you come to collect this. When you do, make sure you’ve got a big van! This is a monster rig.
