Nick Cash – Show 005
We kick off 2017 with a special guest, the frontman from punk band 999, Nick Cash.
Nick came all the way down from the Lake District to be with us this evening. The sound check gave us a little taste of what to expect but once Nick got going, the room soon filled with an energy of a full rock band.
Plugging his famous Fender Tele’ into one of our Marshalls and insisting on the Elvis mic, it was obvious that Nick meant business from the start. With no band behind him, Nick quite simply amazed us with his stage presence kicking off with ‘Inside Out’.
Things just went up hill from there as Nick delivered a set comprising several well-known 999 tracks with a couple of covers thrown in. ‘Lil’ Red Riding Hood’ by Sam Sham and the Pharos went down particularly well with the crew and we all felt a little nostalgic with Nick’s tribute to Jonny Thunder; ‘Born to Lose’.
Our soundman, Robert Godfrey had prepared well for what was going to be our first in-depth interview.
Nick talked about the history of 999, the long road to success, the recordings that were made at the famous Jackson Studios and much more.
Have a look at part one of the exclusive interview below.
